“What if the castle windows were gemstones?”

That was the question that inspired me to design this pendant, Arafel. After purchasing the stone I wanted used as the centerpiece, a flawlessly cut olive green tourmaline, I began assembling a colour scheme. The olive green of the tourmaline and vivid pink-purple of the rhodolite garnets paired perfectly with the indigo of Iolite. I wanted to use channel set the tower windows, so I selected several Iolite baguettes and began to draw from there. This piece combines sculpted scroll work with castle-inspired architecture to create a fully three dimensional wearable sculpture.
